Overview
Three separate vials from mitochondrial and cellular-energy research: NAD+ (a coenzyme, not a peptide), MOTS-c (a mitochondrial-derived peptide that activates AMPK in lab studies) and SS-31 (elamipretide, which binds the inner-membrane lipid cardiolipin). The catalog states no rationale for the grouping.
What the research shows
No study has tested these three together. NAD+ given by IV infusion has only small tolerability studies, and whether it reaches cells intact is unresolved; MOTS-c has no human trials, with glucose and exercise findings in mice. SS-31 is approved only for Barth syndrome, and its 218-person phase 3 trial in mitochondrial myopathy missed both main goals. A 2026 report found that blood NAD+ did not consistently fall with age.
Safety findings
SS-31 caused injection-site reactions in every patient in the Barth syndrome trial, and its label warns of serious allergic reactions; a MOTS-c analog caused injection-site reactions in 79% vs 33% on placebo. FDA flags immune reactions for MOTS-c and has linked chills and vomiting after administration of NAD+ products to bacterial toxin contamination. Other reported concerns: possible added glucose-lowering with MOTS-c, heart-rate effects with fast NAD+ infusion, and higher SS-31 exposure with kidney impairment.
Regulatory status
MOTS-c is not FDA-approved or compoundable (a July 2026 advisory vote was non-binding); NAD+ is in 503A Category 1, under evaluation; SS-31 is approved only as Forzinity for Barth syndrome, and the research vial is not that product. MOTS-c is prohibited at all times by WADA.
Catalog notes
Current certificates exist for all three kit strengths: NAD+ 1,000 mg (COA7611), MOTS-c 10 mg (COA7589) and SS-31 10 mg (COA7584); no endotoxin or sterility results are listed. MOTS-c is also in the Prime and Immuno kits and NAD+ in Prime.
