LESSON 1 OF 1

Research use only, in practice

By the end you can

  • Explain what research use only means
  • Use compliant language
  • Handle use and dosing questions

What it means

Every product in the catalog is supplied for laboratory research and development only. It is not a drug, supplement, food or cosmetic, and is not for human or veterinary use. Buyers confirm they are qualified researchers, at least 21, and responsible for safe handling.

Talk about research, not results

You can describe what a molecule is, which research area it belongs to, and what has been studied, in research language: "studied in rat tendon models," "phase 3 trials in weight management."

You can't say or imply that a product treats, prevents, improves or changes anything in a person or animal. You can't share testimonials or before-and-after material, and you can't discuss amounts, schedules, preparation or routes of use.

When someone asks how to use it

Answer: "We don't advise on use. All products are for laboratory research only." Then stop. A buyer asking about personal use is not a qualified research buyer.

Watch for questions that are about personal use in disguise, like "does it work like Ozempic?" or "what do people use it for?" They get the same answer.

Disclosure and honesty

Say plainly that you're a sales partner and may earn commission whenever you share your link or code, for example: "I'm a sales partner and may earn a commission on orders." Share them only in direct, one-to-one contact with research buyers, never in public posts or spaces about personal health, fitness or appearance. Quote certificates exactly. If you don't know an answer, say so and check with support.

SAY

  • Studied in rat tendon models
  • In phase 3 trials for weight management
  • Here is the certificate for this lot
  • We don’t advise on use

DON’T SAY

  • It heals injuries
  • It works like Ozempic
  • Take it before bed
  • My client loves it
Research language versus claims.

Key terms

Research use only (RUO)
Sold for laboratory research, not for human or animal use.
Qualified buyer
A researcher or institution that meets the supplier's requirements.
Claim
Any statement that a product does something in a person or animal; not allowed.
Disclosure
Telling people you're a partner who may earn commission.

Remember

  • Describe research, never results in people.
  • No dosing, schedules, preparation or routes.
  • "We don't advise on use" is the complete answer to use questions.
